With most IO proposals on there way to be enacted, lets shine a light on the Cardano Summit 2026 proposal. Now is not the time to scale down and hide from the world. Holding the summit this year might be the most important one ever. We have to show that we are still strong and pushing. Many Devs from other chains are around at the same time, lets give them a warm welcome and great contacts face2face at the Cardano Summit! Please consider to vote YES on that revisited proposal. Ask your DRep. Best regards, Martin adastat.net/governances/7b…

🎉 Thank you, Cardano. The voting period has ended! We’re thrilled to share that the Consensus initiative to finalize Leios development and bring it to mainnet passed with 88% support. Thank you to every DRep who voted in favor. Your support keeps the momentum alive and brings us one big step closer to delivering this upgrade for Cardano. To those who voted No: we genuinely appreciate your feedback and the rationales you shared. We take it seriously, we’re learning from it, and it will help us improve as we move forward. Your input is valued. This is a meaningful win for the ecosystem. We’re excited and grateful to keep building and to bring Leios to mainnet. See you all soon for the testnet launch, we are aiming for June 23th. Thank you, Cardano community. Let’s keep building! #Cardano #Leios #Governance #CardanoCommunity

I do strongly feel the Pogun proposal deserves funding as is. I have posted extensively about Pogun in the past few weeks. Happy to repeat the most important points: - The proposal will help to make the treasury self sustainable by repaying the full funding plus 5% perpetually. This is only possible with the current bundling with a yield product. This is the first proposal for this, so this could be a future 'Pogun test' to measure other proposals by - This proposal will implement the open source core of the DeFi Kernel. I have never been excited about DeFi until I learned about the DeFi Kernel, which was envisioned by economist Rusty near to Cardano who sees the full potential of eUTXO for composable (yes with staking), non-margin, non-custodial, bi-directional DeFi. This could be a huge unique selling point and narrative for Cardano moving forward and one of the first times Cardano is ahead. This would be a massive win for the UTXBros movement and the whole DeFi on Cardano narrative. - Rusty is advising the team building this out, so I have good reason to believe they will build what we need economically - I was in Dubai when Edan Yago proposed the idea of Bitcoin DeFi on the live stage at the Cardano Summit 2023. This has been the most exciting idea in years. We have yet to see full fruits of this. This proposal is the best chance we have to get there, finally. Three years later. - Even with a trust minimized Bitcoin Cardano bridge, I would never move BTC over to put into our current DeFi offering, where I can lose my position just because the market tanks, what crypto does regularly. This is a very different proposition with the DeFi Kernel, which offers stable, serious DeFi. Yet, given all of this, with our current minimal viable governance we will from the looks of it fail to approve this and rather delay this further or let another chain implement this first because of 'questions'. It should have been clear from the start minimal viable governance will not be the end state. A good year into Cardano governance is now a good opportunity to think about upgrades and changes benefiting from learnings from past votes. The Pogun one is just one proposal which triggers me most, as I see this as a no-brainer with massive benefits for the Cardano ecosystem on multiple levels. It is deeply frustrating to me, if it doesn't pass. I hope this helps to understand my perspective. Happy to disagree. Even with disagreeing we should always strive to be and remain agreeable

JUST IN: The new U.S. crypto market structure bill does NOT classify decentralized “network tokens” as securities under federal securities laws. The framework heavily favors: • Decentralized governance • Open-source infrastructure • Non-custodial staking • Distributed validator participation Cardano checks every box.

A bit of stats: Preview - since the hard fork already happened, blocks are now being produced only by v11.0 and v11.69 nodes (Dingo by Blink Labs). But take a look at the chain density - it's still pretty low, which likely means around 30% of operators never upgraded and simply stopped producing blocks. Preprod - the situation is a bit better here. Over the last 24 hours, more than 73% of blocks were produced by the latest node version. Not ideal, but definitely moving in the right direction. Mainnet - probably the roughest situation so far. Operators still have some catching up to do :)

@SmaugPool @ada_stat Thanks. I'd seen that before. What I was really looking for was this. Dingo across all of the pools is currently producing ~3% of the blocks on preview. 🦾

Cardano tooling is critical infrastructure. Analytics platforms, APIs, dashboards, and data providers make the ecosystem usable. Raw blockchain data is not useful until someone turns it into infrastructure people can actually use. If Cardano wants adoption, it needs to support the tools that make adoption possible.

Finality speed only matters after you've solved decentralization and censorship resistance. A 400ms-final chain that 5 companies can collectively halt or censor is a fast federation, not a settlement layer. Solana, TON, Sui, Algorand cannot function as a global financial OS. Sub-second finality is bought with a 33% halt threshold concentrated in professional, jurisdictionally identifiable validators. That's not a tradeoff planetary-scale neutral money can make. Look at how nations vote in the UN. Getting 2/3 of independent sovereign actors to agree on anything is practically impossible. Same arithmetic blocks any BFT chain from being decentralized at planetary scale. True scalability isn't TPS or finality latency. It's surviving 33% of your validators getting subpoenaed, sanctioned, or jailed. Two architectures do that: 1. Pure Nakamoto (Bitcoin, Cardano today): degrades smoothly at 33%, recovers without governance. 2. Nakamoto base + additive BFT finality + liquid stake: fast when validators agree, falls back to Nakamoto when they don't. Cardano's Peras is designed for exactly this. Speed without that floor is a feature for cooperative environments. Useful, but not a global financial OS.

Day 1 update of incentives voting. CIP-50 is currently passing by a good margin and with the parameter result skewing toward "Less than 500" If this result ultimately passes then it will require 150k ADA in pledge for a Cardano stake pool to prevent becoming oversaturated. ..

Bad news: upgrading requires a full ledger replay from genesis and can take a few hours. Good news: the ledger snapshot format is now fully compatible with cardano-node (latest). What does this mean in practice? If you already have a fully synced DB-Sync, you can simply reuse the ledger state from the node instead of waiting hours for a replay. I tested this with node v10.7.1 and DB-Sync v13.7.0.4 - the migration took about 5 minutes for mainnet. Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Technical Update ⚙️ cardano-db-sync-13.7.0.4 released DB Sync 13.7.0.4 supports node version 10.7.1. It provides major performance improvements in speed and memory. It supports LSM (experimentally for now), which brings memory requirements down to ~6 GB. github.com/IntersectMBO/c…

@ada_stat Thank you. The dbsync state is much smaller than the ledger one though (15GB vs >200GB). Will dbsync strip it when starting from the ledger one ?
