Ukraine's 48-Hour Strike Campaign: Black Sea Burns, Central Russia's Refineries Choke, and Russia's Own Roads Close The night of May 22–23 marked one of the most consequential 48-hour windows of Ukraine's long-range campaign in months. Two major Russian energy export nodes burned within 24 hours, a refinery 700 km from Ukrainian territory took a direct hit, and Russian-installed officials in occupied Ukraine have begun closing their own highways to civilian traffic - an implicit admission that Ukrainian deep-strike drones now own the rear. Novorossiysk - Grushovaya Oil Terminal (Overnight May 22–23) Objective: Strike the endpoint of Transneft's pipeline network on the Black Sea coast. Importance: Grushovaya is part of the Sheskharis Transshipment Complex and previously handled roughly 700,000 barrels of crude per day - one of the few major Russian oil outlets on the Black Sea and a critical hard-currency artery for the war economy. NASA's FIRMS satellite system independently confirmed the fire. This is the third strike on Sheskharis in roughly ten weeks (prior hits March 2 and April 6), pointing to a deliberate campaign rather than opportunism. Consequences: Two injured, multiple technical and administrative buildings burning, and direct fire damage on the storage terminal. Each strike has previously forced temporary halts to export loadings; sustained repeat strikes erode Transneft's ability to maintain throughput, push insurance premiums up for tanker operators calling at Novorossiysk, and create a chokepoint effect that no amount of "drone debris" framing from Krasnodar Krai authorities can paper over. Slavneft-YANOS Refinery - Yaroslavl (Overnight May 21–22) Objective: Disable one of Russia's main refining assets located ~700 km from Ukrainian territory. Importance: Slavneft-YANOS processes around 15 million tons of crude per year (~300,000 bpd) and is the principal refining asset of PJSC NK Slavneft, co-owned by Gazprom Neft and Rosneft. Yaroslavl Governor Mikhail Evrayev acknowledged the strike and was forced to temporarily shut down the Yaroslavl–Moscow highway, a tacit confirmation of damage on the ground. Consequences: Even partial downtime at YANOS removes significant refining capacity from the central Russian fuel grid that supplies Moscow and the Western Military District. Combined with strikes on Moscow, Ryazan, Kirishi, Syzran, and Kstovo refineries this month, Reuters estimates Ukraine has taken roughly 700,000 bpd of refinery capacity offline in May alone, forcing fuel rationing in several Russian regions. Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez - Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod (May 20, effects reported May 21–22) Objective: Knock out a primary refining unit at one of Russia's largest refineries. Importance: Kstovo is among the top-five Russian refineries by capacity. Two industry sources told Reuters the strike forced closure of the AVT-6 primary oil refining unit - the front-end distillation tower that defines a refinery's throughput. Consequences: Industry sources expect a sharp decline in the plant's output of petroleum products. AVT-6 repairs typically take weeks to months depending on damage, meaning this is not a 48-hour outage. Coming six days after a prior strike on the same complex, it deepens the central-Russia fuel shortage and forces Lukoil to redirect crude flows. Syzran Refinery - Samara Region (May 21) Objective: Hit a Rosneft asset feeding fuel to the Volga and Urals military districts. Importance: Syzran is a Rosneft refinery that supplies fuel across the Volga region, including to military logistics chains supporting forces in Ukraine. Zelensky personally confirmed the strike - a signal of strategic value. Consequences: Fire reported at the facility. The combined Syzran-Kstovo-Yaroslavl trio represents a deliberate east-of-Moscow geographic pattern: Ukraine is systematically removing the refineries that sit beyond easy Pantsir/Tor coverage and that feed the Russian heartland's domestic market. Starobilsk - Rubikon Drone Command HQ (Overnight May 21–22) Objective: Decapitate the headquarters of Russia's elite Rubikon Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies. Importance: Rubikon is the Russian military's premier unmanned-systems command unit - responsible for FPV and fiber-optic drone operations that have inflicted heavy losses on Ukrainian armor and logistics around Pokrovsk and Kupyansk. Striking its rear HQ is targeting the brain, not the limbs. Consequences: Russia claimed civilian casualties at a dormitory; Ukraine's General Staff called this manipulation and reaffirmed the target was the Rubikon command node. Even partial disruption of Rubikon's coordination capacity directly degrades Russian drone tempo along contested axes. Putin publicly ordered retaliation planning, which itself signals the strike landed where it hurt. M-14 and H-20 Highways - Occupied Kherson and Donetsk Objective: Interdict Russian ground lines of communication into the front. Importance: The M-14 (Mariupol–Berdyansk–Melitopol–Henichesk) and H-20 (Mariupol–Donetsk City) are the two primary logistics arteries feeding Russian forces in southern and eastern Ukraine. Geolocated footage on May 21–22 shows successful strikes on Russian military trucks along both routes. Consequences: Kherson occupation head Vladimir Saldo signed a decree on May 21 restricting freight vehicle movement along a stretch of the M-14 - Russia is now closing its own supply road. Kremlin-affiliated milbloggers warned this concentrates remaining military traffic into predictable windows, making Ukrainian drone targeting easier. ISW assesses these strikes are materially slowing Russian advances around Pokrovsk and Kupyansk. Secondary Strikes (Overnight May 21–22) 1. Rovenky, Luhansk (~130 km from front): materiel and technical warehouse hit 2. Oskil River crossing near Holubivka: Russian crossing destroyed north of Kupyansk 3. Velyka Novosilka: ammunition depot struck 4. Donetsk City: Osa air defense system and another logistics warehouse destroyed 5. Selydove, Malynivka, Vesele: Russian drone command posts neutralized 6. Verkhnii Tokmak Druhyi: communications node destroyed 7. Novopetrykivka: command and observation post hit Why This 48 Hours Matters Three threads converge. First, the refinery campaign has crossed the threshold where it produces visible domestic fuel shortages and forces Moscow to import gasoline - Russia, an oil superpower, is now a net fuel importer in some regions. Second, the Novorossiysk strike threatens the export side of the equation simultaneously with the refining side, squeezing both ends of the oil revenue pipeline. Third, the GLOC interdiction campaign has reached the point where Russian-installed officials are voluntarily restricting their own logistics - a measurable operational effect that no Kremlin spokesperson can hide. Putin's public order for retaliation following the Rubikon strike confirms the targeting hierarchy: Ukraine is now hitting the assets Russia cares about most. Let me know in the comments if I missed any major attacks-I'd appreciate any feedback The video shows the aftermath of the attack on Novorossiysk - Grushovaya Oil Terminal Sources in the comment below If you appreciate what I do, I'd really appreciate your financial support. Thanks a lot! buymeacoffee.com/WarDroneX

But we will keep reminding the world. Because when leaders of nations have such short memories, it says everything about them. The world has already “forgotten” how the russian army brought mobile crematoriums into Mariupol to burn the bodies of tortured and murdered civilians — simply to hide their crimes. And now, since this morning, reports are spreading that russia is preparing yet another massive attack on Ukraine — this time with their beloved “Oreshnik” again. And the world stays silent once more. Western politicians are cowards. Shame on them. But we are Human. We remember. And we stand together.

💊 A Memory Pill for russian Propagandists and Those Who Are Already Tired of Remembering. Confession of Lieutenant Colonel Maksim KryshTop, Deputy Commander of the 47th Bombardment Aviation Regiment of the russian Armed Forces (Interfax-Ukraine briefing, March 11, 2022): “On February 24, 2022, I carried out a combat mission dropping high-explosive aerial bombs with a total weight of 3 tons in the Balakliia district of Kharkiv region. On March 3, 2022 — 3 tons in the Izyum district. On March 6, 2022 — 4 tons. During the execution of these missions, I realized that the targets were not military objects, but civilian houses and people. Nevertheless, I carried out the order.” ◾ On March 16, 2022, the russian Air Force dropped two 500-kilogram high-explosive bombs (FAB-500) on the Mariupol Drama Theatre. The word “CHILDREN” (ДЕТИ) was written in huge letters in russian on the square in front of the building, clearly visible from the air. More than 600 civilians were killed, including many children. ✍️ The pharmacy where these “memory pills” are kept must remain open to the entire world. In the fifth year of russia’s war against Ukraine, it has become convenient for many to slip into oblivion. But the truth does not disappear simply because it is ignored. There is much more the world must remember: Azovstal, the maternity hospital in Mariupol, Kakhovka, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and many other russian war crimes.... 💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊 ... 📎 Full press conference recording (with subtitles): youtube.com/watch?v=xcgPox… 📎 Press conference with captured russian pilots (March 11, 2022): youtu.be/cfW2AcF1a7s

In Serbia, there were again large scale anti-government rallies in the capital and elsewhere. The student led protests mainly for new elections, were against corruption and President Aleksandar Vucic. Who knows Putin might lose another ally after Orban was kicked out.

This Friday, Putin once again claimed Russia is winning the war and urged Ukrainian troops to stop following orders - even as Ukraine is making its biggest gains since 2022. This spring, Ukrainian forces regained 590 km², are now cutting Crimea off from key military supply routes, and struck major Russian oil and military infrastructure, while Russian troop losses surpassed 30,000 personnel per month. At the request of my followers, I created a video showing just how far Putin’s statements are from reality. VIDEO: The First Corps of Azov announces its return to Mariupol, cutting off the city’s supply lines. Ukrainian drones are seen over the sadly famous Azovstal plant, the Mariupol Drama Theater — which Russian forces struck despite the large “Children” sign — and other prominent locations. While Putin talks about so-called Russian gains in the Zaporizhzhia direction, this video shows the latest strikes destroying Russian supply routes and positions in the area. It also highlights recent losses suffered by the Russian Akhmat special battalion, along with strikes on Russian refineries and military facilities in Ryazan, Moscow, and other regions. PUTIN’S STATEMENT: In this regard, I would like to address the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine once again, as I have already done. Do not carry out the criminal orders of the illegitimate thieving junta, otherwise you yourself become accomplices in these crimes. Although the reasons for such criminal behavior of the “Kyiv regime” are clear. You know this better than anyone else. These are constant failures at the front, the surrender of the positions of settlements and territories. The situation at the front for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is gradually turning from difficult and critical to catastrophic. Neither Western aid, which is regularly stolen, helps. Well, they just can’t help themselves, they can't help themselves. But you probably know that today, both our fighters from the Vostok and Dnepr groups are successfully and honorably carrying out their combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia direction. They are advancing confidently every day, every day moving forward. And the movement is very noticeable, I would say. All our losses, sacrifices are not in vain. There is not a single sacrifice in vain, not a single loss. Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! And thank you, thank you to your comrades who are now at the front.

🇺🇦🇩🇪🇪🇺 Zelensky responds to Merz on Ukraine's "cut" EU membership - Reuters In a letter to EU leaders, Zelensky said that Germany's proposal to grant Ukraine the status of an "associate" EU member is "unfair" because it would deprive Kyiv of its voting rights within the European Union. "We defend Europe - fully, not partially, and not with half-measures. Ukraine deserves a fair approach and equal rights in Europe," the president stressed.
