"Are you ready for the revolution you seek? Which youth are going to replace Tinubu and Shettima? Let's start with my own state, Edo State. Most of the youths there do fr@ud. When you go to Edo State, hotels and clubs everywhere. Those are the people you want to put in power?" - VDM responds to Isa Bako

Lost priority syndrome 😔 The more I reflect on the 2025 World Happiness Report, ranking us now the second unhappiest nation in the world—trailing only Afghanistan, the more i am reminded about how this deeply troubling reality starkly contrasts with the continued defensiveness of government officials claims of cleaning up our image internationally. They appear more preoccupied with making the international community more happy than citizens. They appear more obsessed with “cleaning up" Sierra Leone’s image abroad than addressing the lived experiences of its citizens. With us now being ranked 146th out of 147th by by the world happiness report, it is high time the government confronts an inescapable truth: if the goal is to improve our international image, the primary audience must be the people of Sierra Leone themselves. Only when our citizens feel genuinely valued, heard, and cared for can we begin to shift the global perception of our nation. Public opinion at home is the foundation upon which international credibility is built. This is supported by the report’s methodology, which prioritizes residents’ own assessments over external perceptions. To focus disproportionately on impressing foreign actors, while neglecting the daily hardships faced by ordinary Sierra Leoneans, is not only misguided—it is pointless.
