Ambassador Massinga, why is it that dialogue is considered a viable solution to resolve war in #Ethiopia, but not in Ukraine? After all Putin clearly expressed willingness to engage in dialogue. Taking a few passages from yesterday's speech by @SecBlinken one can substitute "Putin" with "Abiy" and "Ukraine" with "Amhara" and the statement would accurately describe the war in Amhara. If this was all about the principal of the matter, this is what the U.S. would have said. But the sad reality is the Blinken-Harris admin refuses to explicitly acknowledge suffering of Amharas or condemn atrocities committed by the regime. When the issue of Amhara suffrage is brought up, the response is always "all Ethiopians are suffering", a classic dismissive "all lives matter" response. This demonstrates a total failure to uphold universal principals of human rights, democracy and freedom.
