Canada’s House of Commons is set to pass a new law that would criminalize public display of flags and symbols of designated Khalistan organizations, such as Babbar Khalsa International and the International Sikh Youth Federation, if used to promote hatred. The Combatting Hate Act (Bill C-9) has now been sent to the Senate for review before it becomes law. Various religious organizations are criticizing the proposed law for curtailing freedom of speech in Canada. @MarkJCarney @JustinTrudeau @theJagmeetSingh @WSO_org @WorldSikhOrg @sikh_coalition @SikhNet @SikhPA @Khalsa_Aid @NDP @GGCanada @CanadianPM @MEAIndia @PbGovtIndia @BhagwantMann @officeofssbadal @HarsimratBadal_ @raghav_chadha @vikramsahney @sunilkjakhar @BJP4Punjab @INCPunjab @Akali_Dal_ @SGPCPresident @SGPCAmritsar @SimranjitSADA @SADA_Canada @SAD_Amritsar @manjhpur @J_SriAkalTakht @J_Harpreetsingh

A QUESTION TO HS PHOOLKA @hsphoolka: Senior advocate, author, human rights activist well known for fighting the 1984 Sikh genocide cases for four decades, Harvinder Singh Phoolka has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier he was in Aam Aadmi Party and served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Panjab Legislative Assembly. LoP has a cabinet rank and is considered an office of profit. He quit in 2017 to continue fighting the Sikh cases without holding an office of profit. Phoolka has been a vocal critic of BJP and the RSS. Now that he has joined BJP, he needs to answer what happened to these 14 FIRs against 49 BJP and RSS workers over charges of arson, rioting, dacoity, and attempt to murder in 1984 registered on the recommendation of the Jain-Agarwal Committee which examined affidavits by victims filed with various Commissions. Also, would once again becoming an active politician not distract Phoolka from fighting the pending 1984 cases? Panjab CM Bhagwant Mann has asked the Rajasthan govt to pay royalty for the water supplied for its irrigation and drinking needs, claiming an outstanding amount of USD 15.41B. He said the agrarian state has been providing its neighbor with water under the 1920 agreement, but there was no mention of this arrangement under the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960. The Panjab govt has sought for dues from 1960 to 2026, adding that Rajasthan has not paid a 'single paisa for decades'. Refuting the claims, Rajasthan said it also contributed to the construction of the Gang Canal. What does this mean for Panjab's river waters and its longstanding view on the riparian laws? Read our special report on Panjab's waters. @BhagwantMann @AAPPunjab @AamAadmiParty @Akali_Dal_ @BJP4Punjab @BJP4Rajasthan @BhajanlalBjp @RajGovOfficial @RajCMO @PbGovtIndia @SGPCAmritsar @SGPCPresident @INCIndia @INCPunjab @INCRajasthan @AAPRajasthan @BJP4India @savingpunjab @EnvAgency @Punjab_Water @PACLudhiana

Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Patti, Tarn Taran & former Panjab transport minister Laljit Singh Bhullar was arrested on 23 March for allegedly abetting to suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, a Punjab Warehousing Corporation official. Now two AAP MLAs are in jail. The other being Maninder Singh Lalpura who was sentenced to four years in prison in Sep 2025 over the assault and molestation of a Dalit woman. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced in Parliament that the Randhawa case will be given to the Central Bureau of Investigation but the Punjab government is not agreeing to that. @AamAadmiParty @AAPPunjab @Akali_Dal_ @BhagwantMann @AmitShah @BJP4India @BJP4Punjab @INCIndia @INCPunjab @officeofssbadal @HarsimratBadal_ @PargatSOfficial @RajaBrar_INC @Sukhjinder_INC @bsmajithia @sunilkjakhar @tarunchughbjp @J_SriAkalTakht @J_Harpreetsingh @SGPCPresident

📝REPORT: Extrajudicial killings & enforced disappearances in Panjab (1992-25) During the militancy period in Panjab from 1978 to 1995, thousands of individuals were subject to enforced disappearances. Human rights activists, most notably Sardar Jaswant Singh Khalra, estimated the number of victims at approximately 25,000. But only a small fraction of these cases have progressed to formal legal proceedings. Our new report documents these cases tried by India's CBI courts. How many convictions and acquittals have happened in these cases so far? And how many cases of grave human rights violations are still under trial? Panjab farmers are currently battling climate change as first a spike in heat and then sudden excessive rainfall flattened wheat crops in several districts. The first two weeks of March recorded maximum temperatures above 30°C, which was 4–5°C more than the ideal March temperature. On March 15, Panjab saw sudden rain, receiving 408% excess rainfall within 24 hours. Heavy rains & strong winds flattened wheat crops in several districts. @Tractor2twitr_P @kisanektamorcha @OfficialBKU @BKU_KisanUnion @PbGovtIndia @Devinder_Sharma @WorldBankGroup @BhagwantMann @officeofssbadal @Akali_Dal_ @J_SriAkalTakht @J_Harpreetsingh @HarsimratBadal_ @ikhhlaqaujla @ipsinghTOI @PargatSOfficial @vikramsahney @RajaBrar_INC @AAPPunjab @INCPunjab @BJP4India @sunilkjakhar
