When two sovereign states merge to form a single new entity, the resulting state cannot obtain formal recognition or United Nations membership without submitting the legal treaty of union to the UN. Under Article 102 of the UN Charter, every international agreement must be registered with the UN Secretariat and published before it can be invoked before any organ of the United Nations. Somalia has never deposited or registered any treaty of union between Somaliland and the former Italian-administered Somalia with the United Nations. Nevertheless, it continues to claim the territory of Somaliland, which gained independence from Britain on 26 June 1960. Somalia attained independence from the Italian UN trusteeship on 1 July 1960. No formal treaty of union between the 2 states was ever submitted. According to Article 102 of the UN Charter, every treaty and international agreement entered into by any Member of the United Nations must be registered with the Secretariat and published by it as soon as possible. Key Requirements for Membership ➡️Submission of Treaty: Documentation of the union must be presented to prove the legal dissolution of the former states and the creation of the new one. ➡️Registration: Under Article 102, no party to an unregistered treaty may invoke that treaty before any organ of the United Nations. ➡️Validation: The UN Secretariat must verify and publish the agreement to ensure transparency and international recognition.

The legal question you posed in this letter instantly captivates any reader, pausing them mid-thought and gently compelling them to ask: “How could this possibly be true” Thank you, as always, Khalif, for your tireless efforts in working to secure Somaliland’s re-recognition.

Israel–Somaliland relations will shape the Red Sea/ Gulf Of Aden far more than another AU or Arab League statement ever will. The AU echoing Djibouti and the Arab League echoing Egypt isn’t a regional consensus—it’s foreign policy by proxy. They seem to forget Somaliland is in Africa and enjoys strong relations with those that matter. @MarioNawfal just for the record: that’s not the blue is not Somaliland flag. Somaliland is not a separatist project—it reasserted sovereignty within the borders it inherited at independence in 1960. Somaliland Passport is accepted in over 30 nations already depending on visa requirements.

Sultan Ahmed Muse Ahmed Farah Qabiile has been released from prison. However, the government must answer the following questions: Why was Sultan Ahmed Muse Ahmed Farah Qabiile arrested? What crime did he allegedly commit? If he committed a crime, why was he not brought before a court? Why was he sent to Mandheera Jail without a sentence? And why can't the government respect the law of the country?

A Somalian government official sought support from the Minnesota Somali diaspora for the Al-Shabaab affiliated SSC-Khatumo government. Unregistered Foreign Agent - Mulki Hussien advocated for an immigrant community to support Somalia's war against Somaliland and to not submit to the control of outsiders. Why this matters - Abdi Madobe is a Commander in the SSC-Khatumo military. According to the UN Security Council Panel of Experts report (S/2025/777) states: Al-Shabaab “has already deployed fighters into North-East State in 2025 — including 200 operating under the leadership of Abdi Madobe, a long-serving senior commander in the region.” So why was a foreign-government-linked political message tied to this exact conflict being delivered at a rally in Minneapolis by an unregistered Foreign Agent of Somalia? This demands straight answers: Who organized the event? What foreign-government role was disclosed? #Somalia #Minnesota #AmericaFirst #NationalSecurity #FBIInvestigation #ForeignAgent @FBIMinneapolis @sarahadams @DOJNatSec @WHFraudTF

Now that the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reports that Somaliland President Abdirahman Irro is expected to visit Israel next week, Somalilanders can sit back and enjoy the familiar spectacle of the Saudi-Turkish-Qatari-Egyptian axis scrambling to draft yet another round of condemnations, denunciations, objections, concerns, and expressions of "deep disappointment." One can almost picture the emergency meetings already underway; diplomats frantically searching for the strongest possible wording, foreign ministries dusting off old templates, and television presenters preparing dramatic monologues about the "grave threat" posed by Somaliland simply talking to a country that half the world already engages with. The irony, of course, is that these same governments maintain direct or indirect relations with Israel whenever it suits their strategic interests. Yet when Somaliland pursues its own diplomatic and economic interests, suddenly the sky is falling and regional stability is allegedly at risk. For Somalilanders, the condemnations have become less of a deterrent and more of a ceremonial tradition. Every new diplomatic breakthrough is inevitably followed by a chorus of outrage from capitals that seem far more concerned about Somaliland's growing international profile than about the countless crises unfolding in their own countries and neighborhoods. At this point, the real question is not whether another condemnation is coming, but which entity will issue it first.Amusing

Somaliland's Veteran Journalist and Muckraker Exposes the Stark Hypocrisy of Arab and Muslim Regimes In the quoted piercing dispatch that cuts through the fog of selective outrage, Somaliland’s seasoned veteran journalist and unflinching muckraker has brilliantly laid bare the hypocrisy of Arab and Muslim autocracies that are poised to rush to condemn President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro’s upcoming visit to Israel in the coming days. To the Arab world and the Muslim autocracies that presume to lecture us, we say this with crystalline clarity listen closely: Somaliland confronts existential threats every bit as grave as those faced by Israel. Our strategic interests converge at the vital chokepoint of the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the gateway between the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. Let that reality sink in, loud and unmistakable. Israel’s long term security hinges on keeping these straits open and free from Houthi domination and Iranian backed disruption. Somaliland, exercising its sovereign right, has every justification to host an Israeli forward base on its territory to safeguard unfettered maritime navigation for commercial vessels of every flag and nation. Free passage through these waters is not a favour but a global necessity. The United States, too, cannot afford to see this critical artery fall under hostile control. Washington will soon have little choice but to deepen its engagement with Somaliland, especially as it is about to concede the Strait of Hormuz to Iranian toll and intimidation in the months ahead. Geography does not lie. Threats do not respect diplomatic theater. Somaliland and Israel stand at the same strategic crossroads, facing adversaries who weaponize the very sea lanes the world depends upon. The self-appointed guardians of the ummah may howl in condemnation, but their selective silence on far greater aggressions exposes the emptiness of their rhetoric. Somaliland will chart its own course rooted in survival, realism, and the defense of open seas regardless of performative outrage from distant capitals

للمزيد: haadka.com/blog/ar/2026-0…

It is not only preposterous but outright treasonous to suggest that former President Muse Bihi Abdi, an SNM hero who fought to liberate this country from the genocidal regime of Siad Barre, is in cahoots with Djiboutian dictator Ismail Omar Guelleh. This claim is an impossibility, especially since Guelleh himself publicly declared that the MOU was a stab in the back. Former President Muse Bihi Abdi has shown profound love for Somaliland. He stepped aside without campaigning and not investing millions in his own campaign resources, and did so fully aware that the country stood on the brink of civil war. Boqor BuurMadaw himself admitted right here on X that he was working as a traitor with the enemy to undermine our military. If that is what he was pardoned for, then he is at it again, this time actively working with Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud reelection campaign. Why do we not openly discuss these new treasonous endeavours and urge our government to take appropriate action to bring him before a court of law? To the trolling dung beetles I would say former President Muse Bihi is resting on his laurels and no amount of emotionally induced propaganda can change his exemplary legacy of leadership and love of country. It is time to grow up. Stop the division and start working toward the unity of our people. This is what is good for Somaliland we all love.
