โน๏ธ The Bee Hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae), endemic to Cuba, is the smallest bird in the world. It weighs less than a penny and its heart beats up to 1,200 times per minute. Males weight less than 2g (0.07 oz) and measure roughly 5.5cm (2.2 in) in length. These tiny, iridescent birds are often mistaken for bees and are vital pollinators, feeding on nectar from flowers.
