@DKShivakumar we hope you have learnt that Metro is the only option for Bengaluru - not tunnel roads or elevated corridors or flyovers. Expand Metro as a dense grid, not linear to neighbouring cities or towns - there is the suburban rail for that! @rajdugar @solidview
DK Shivakumar@DKShivakumar

Namma Metro - Namma Ride! On my way to International Tech Park Bangalore today, I took the Namma Metro from Vidhana Soudha. Namma Metro is truly Bengaluru’s lifeline. We are committed to expanding the network with new metro lines, growing from about 96 km today to 137 km by 2026 and nearly 175 km by 2027. #NammaMetro #NammaBengaluru

Citizen's demand has boiled down to this - A 'FUNCTIONING' GOVERNMENT IN BENGALURU - Citizens are voicing the obvious - missing administration & governance Are our politicians & bureaucrats ashamed at all? @CMofKarnataka @siddaramaiah @DKShivakumar @rashtrapatibhvn @PMOIndia
Whitefield Citizens Ward Committees@WhitefieldWards

@NammaWhitefield attended the PUBLIC GRIEVANCE MEETING held at @EASTCITYCORP chaired by @GBAChiefComm on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, and submitted a petition with JUST ONE IMPORTANT ASK: "PLEASE RESTORE A 'FUNCTIONING' GOVERNMENT IN BENGALURU CITY!" It's a free for all in the city now, there is no compliance with bye-laws, rules, or zoning laws. IT IS AS IF THERE IS NO GOVT AT ALL! Violations are extreme - 100%, 200%, or more. Illegal buildings, illegal layouts, illegal commercialisation, etc., have become the norm. Violators can do anything without any fear of consequence; as a result, the city is rapidly collapsing into a "CONCRETE SLUM"! If it can't provide effective or functioning administration, if there's no enforcement or governance, why have GBA at all? Even if all the corporations are wound up, and all the officials sacked, there will be no difference on the ground. Then why employ them? Might as well save that money, and let people do whatever they please? Why have the facade of a City Corporation? Petition link: docs.google.com/document/d/1s_… A budget suggestion including ways to tackle this situation: docs.google.com/document/d/1xG… @CMofKarnataka @siddaramaiah @DKShivakumar @GBA_office @MoHUA_India @mlkhattar @BengaluruAgenda @BLRTownHall @rashtrapatibhvn @civicbangalore @CAFBengaluru @Namma_Bengaluru @bengalurupost1 @BengaluruAgenda @east_bengaluru @BAFBLR @WF_Watcher @BangaloreRepair @namma_BTM @whitefieldwards @Nammawhitefield @wfrising @NandanNilekani @PrasadBidapa @TVMohandasPai @ashwinmahesh @BelawadiBlr @nnarasimhan @BrindaAdige @HariniNagendra @SandeepAnirudha @psridharp @srikanthn1975 @RBPachhapur @Infosys_nmurthy @kris_sg

Prominent citizens call out the Government’s #TunnelVision for Bengaluru — terming the tunnel road project the “White Elephant of White Elephants.” In this powerful discussion, Ramachandra Guha, A. Ravindra, and Santosh Hegde strongly critique the ill-conceived tunnel road proposal. They call for: • Planned, accountable urban development • Strengthening mass transit and public transport • Adherence to due process and statutory mobility plans • Immediate cancellation of ad-hoc, arbitrary infrastructure decisions Bengaluru deserves evidence-based planning — not expensive experiments. @CMofKarnataka @siddaramaiah @DKShivakumar @GBA_office @DULTBangalore @MoHUA_India @ut_MoHUA @mlkhattar @BelawadiBlr #TunnelRoadBeda #PublicTransportBeku #SustainableTransport #MassTransit #PlannedDevelopment #Masterplan #74thAmendment #NUTP #UMTA #ComprehensiveMobilityPlan #BMLTA Watch the full discussion here: youtube.com/watch?v=xIdqN_…

Let's nail the BMRCL lie on the base year. Bengaluru, spare a moment to see the FFC formula & you will agree the base year to use was 2017-18. BMRCL used 2016-17 & falsely claims it as a statutory requirement. This mistake explains why we pay high metro fares. #RollBackFares

Dear BMRCL Board, Now that the CM has stated that he is going to formally take up the fare issue with Central Govt, citizens expect the annual fare hike to be kept in abeyance. It's fair & respectful to wait till your JV promoters discuss & reconsider fare hike. Rgds, Commuter

1/n | The Karnataka High Court is hearing two petitions challenging the Tunnel Road Project today in Court Hall No. 1 (Sl. No. 55). The petitioners question the legality and constitutional validity of the project. They contend that it violates planning norms flowing from the 74th Constitutional Amendment, particularly those governing master planning, as well as the National Urban Transport Policy, among other statutory frameworks. According to the petitioners, the Tunnel Road Project is non-statutory, ad hoc, arbitrary, and devoid of planning rigour. They argue that it exposes Bengaluru to serious and unintended consequences at an enormous cost—both financially and through irreversible disruption of the city’s geography. Since the project is not part of any approved master plan or a holistic, comprehensive transport and mobility plan, it is expected to worsen congestion rather than reduce it, undermine the long-term viability of mass transit systems, and ultimately prove detrimental to the city. While cities across the world are moving towards dense, integrated mass transit networks—prioritising rail-based Mass Rapid Transit systems such as metro and suburban rail, and actively discouraging private vehicular use—the Tunnel Road Project envisages large-scale infrastructure for private car traffic, making it fundamentally regressive. Crucially, the petitioners point out that these arbitrary projects have not been approved by the legally mandated authorities—neither the Metropolitan Planning Committee (MPC) nor the Bangalore Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (BMLTA)—both of which are statutory bodies required to guide and approve such interventions under law. 🚦 Tune in: You can watch the hearing live on the vConsol platform: karnatakajudiciary.vconsol.com 🚇 Case status / display board: judiciary.karnataka.gov.in/display_board_… #TunnelRoadBeda #TunnelRoads #PlannedDevelopment #Mobility #SustainableTransport #MassTransit #74thAmendment #CityGovernance #Constitution #Karnataka #HighCourt #Bengaluru #CitySwaraj #Devolution #Decentralisation #UrbanPlanning #MPC #BMLTA @BelawadiBlr @civicbangalore @CAFBengaluru @SwarajForCities @BengaluruAgenda @BLRMobility @Namma_Bengaluru @bengalurupost1 @east_bengaluru @BAFBLR @BangaloreRepair @namma_BTM @whitefieldwards @Nammawhitefield @rajdugar @solidview @SandeepAnirudha @ut_MoHUA @CMofKarnataka @UMTC_INDIA

THE TRAGEDY OF BENGALURU - ILLEGALITY-CITY! Can anything illegal be stopped in Bengaluru? Answer is obviously NO? Please go through the attached thread: x.com/NammaWhitefiel… (PS: Last we checked the illegal borewell drilling is still continuing despite the written police complaint and efforts of the BWSSB officials) Borewell drilling without permission is illegal - It is BANNED! But the combined forces of @CMofKarnataka @chairmanbwssb @NsBoseraju and @CPBlr are unable to stop one illegal borewell drilling! Then how can one stop illegal buildings, illegal layouts, illegal commercialisation, illegal road and footpath encroachments, illegal lake and forest encroachments, illegal overhead cables, illegal traffic violations, illegal..................; Just about anything that's illegal you can do it in Bengaluru! And get away! THE GOVT JUST DOESN'T HAVE THE INTENT TO ENFORCE ANY LAWS!? A special mention is required of ministers like @nsboseraju and @DKShivakumar who are far more eager to reduce the protection to our water bodies and their buffer zones to favour real estate lobbies, than to protect anything in this city. No wonder this city is in this state! There's no way to protect anything in this city! Everything's under attack, the environment, the quality of life, the civic rules, the bye-laws,... all due to an incompetent and inept administration, which begins with the state administration. The city has reached a point of decline that it can be termed as 'dying'! #DeathOfBengaluru #Lawlessness #Violations #Illegalities #Groundwater #WaterSecurity #IllegalBorewells #BorewellScam #WaterCrisis #WaterEmergency #Bengaluru #NammaBengaluru #BangaloreWater #BengaluruCrisis #SaveBengaluru #EnvironmentalCrime #RuleOfLaw #UrbanMisgovernance #CivicFailure #HoldAuthoritiesAccountable #SaveOurWater #WaterIsLife #ActNow #CitizensForBengaluru #PeopleBeforeProfit @siddaramaiah @DrParameshwara @CGWB_CHQ @DoWRRDGR_MoJS @dcpwhitefield @CPBlr @ICCCBengaluru @acpwhitefield @wfieldps @GBAChiefComm @GBA_office @EASTCITYCORP @rashtrapatibhvn @narendramodi @PMOIndia @moefcc @byadavbjp @HMOIndia @BlrCityPolice @mlkhattar @MoHUA_India @osd_cmkarnataka @civicbangalore @CAFBengaluru @Namma_Bengaluru @bengalurupost1 @BengaluruAgenda @east_bengaluru @BAFBLR @WF_Watcher @BangaloreRepair @namma_BTM @whitefieldwards @Nammawhitefield
