Trump, yesterday: “We will stop the radical left Democrats’ rampant looting of  your taxpayer dollars and we will win the war on fraud.” (He went on to say “Maine is so bad”) Literally the same day he neared a “deal” with the IRS to steal $10 BILLION in taxpayer dollars for himself. Remember, every accusation is a confession. Are Republicans really ok with this?

I’m a progressive @HouseDemocrat. @GlyphosateGirl is a #MAHA activist, a movement often associated with RFK Jr. and Trump. But we are united by 3 simple beliefs: - People deserve food free from toxic chemicals. - People deserve honest warnings about health risks. - And chemical giants should never get immunity when their products cause harm. Our joint op-ed in @thehill today lays out what’s at stake in two major upcoming fights against Big Chemical📰👇

The Hill today. @chelliepingree (D-Maine) and I co-authored an op-ed about why the pesticide liability shield is a beyond partisan crisis - everyone needs to get on board to defeat pesticide company protections. thehill.com/opinion/energy…

That's not how this works. At all. When a Congressional committee issues a subpoena to someone, it’s for that *person*—not the role or title. The DOJ’s refusal to make Pam Bondi appear before the House Oversight Committee is patently illegal and plainly unconstitutional. Given the former AG’s ridiculous behavior the last time she testified, I can understand why the DOJ wouldn’t want her anywhere near that hearing room. But it’s not their decision to make. It’s the Committee’s. If she refuses to comply, she should be held in contempt. Bondi has A LOT to answer for over her disastrous mishandling of the Epstein files—and what sure seems like a massive coverup to protect Trump. Is @GOPoversight going to allow Bondi to defy its own committee and continue to operate as if she is above the law? I think I know the answer. But it should be asked nonetheless. Disgraceful and pathetic.
Max Cohen@maxpcohen

New from @GOPoversight: "The Department of Justice has stated Pam Bondi will not appear on April 14 for a deposition since she is no longer Attorney General and was subpoenaed in her capacity as Attorney General."

“A whole civilization will die tonight.” Read it again—and let it sink in. The President of the United States is threatening war crimes against a country of 90 million people. This isn’t “bluster.” It’s not “Trump being Trump.” It sure as hell isn’t “the art of the deal.” It’s a threat of genocide from a profoundly damaged and dangerous man. If the VP and Cabinet won’t invoke the 25th Amendment, then he needs to be impeached and removed. THIS INSANITY HAS TO STOP!

🚨 FARM BILL POWER GRAB The 2026 Farm Bill quietly slipped in three sections that could shield pesticide companies from lawsuits, block states from regulating chemicals, and weaken water protections nationwide. Rep. Chellie Pingree just introduced an amendment to delete them entirely. Here’s the plain-English breakdown everyone should understand 👇 1. Lawsuit Shield for Pesticide Companies (Section 10205) If this stays in the bill, chemical companies could avoid liability even if new evidence shows their product causes cancer or neurological damage. As long as the pesticide followed the label approved under Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), victims may lose the ability to sue. Why this matters: Bayer has already paid about $11 billion to settle lawsuits over the herbicide Glyphosate linked to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. More than 165,000 claims have been filed against Bayer tied to the product Roundup herbicide. If Section 10205 passes, future cases like those could be blocked. Pingree’s amendment removes that shield. 2. States Lose Power Over Pesticide Rules (Section 10206) Right now states and local governments can create stricter pesticide protections than the federal government. That includes things like bans on spraying near schools or buffer zones around homes and waterways. Section 10206 would override those rules nationwide. That reverses precedent set by the Supreme Court case Wisconsin Public Intervenor v. Mortier, which affirmed that local governments can regulate pesticides. Seven states currently allow local pesticide control. Those protections could disappear overnight. 3. Weakened Water & Wildlife Protections (Section 10207) This provision would exempt pesticides from additional review under major environmental laws including the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. In practice that means pesticides approved by EPA could enter rivers, streams, and habitats without additional permits or environmental review. Government monitoring has already detected pesticide residues in most U.S. waterways, raising concerns about runoff impacts on fish, wildlife, and drinking water. Why This Fight Is Exploding Critics argue the provisions protect chemical manufacturers, override state authority, and weaken environmental oversight. Supporters claim the sections reduce litigation risk, simplify national pesticide regulation, and protect agricultural production. Pingree’s amendment simply removes the three sections entirely, restoring the existing regulatory framework. What Happens Next The bill is still in markup inside the House Agriculture Committee. That means these provisions can still be removed before the Farm Bill moves forward. This fight will determine who controls pesticide rules in America — communities or chemical companies. Key Takeaways The Farm Bill includes three provisions that could shield pesticide companies from lawsuits. They could also strip states and towns of authority to regulate pesticide use locally. Environmental protections tied to waterways and wildlife could be weakened. The Pingree amendment would remove those provisions entirely and restore current law. @amtoxicology @chelliepingree

If Republicans and the Trump Admin really want to “Make America Health Again” — they need to get real about supporting programs that help Americans get healthy food (like GusNIP) and stop just paying lip service to the #MAHA movement. Because the reality is, ultraprocessed food is cheap. And when food insecure families get just $6 a day in SNAP benefits, they’re going to pick the cheap, ultraprocessed food over healthy fruits and vegetables. This Farm Bill *could* be the vehicle we need to make real MAHA gains and say food IS medicine.

This is leadership! Prioritize our health over partisan politics. Thank you @chelliepingree and @RepThomasMassie - who else is going to step up and defend our right to sue when we get sick from glyphosate exposure?

Proud to co-lead this effort with @RepThomasMassie. The Trump Admin. cannot keep paying lip service to #MAHA while propping up Big Chemical like this and choosing corporate profits over Americans’ health. ENOUGH.

HELL YES to this bi-partisan effort to stop @Bayer from getting immunity. They are poisoning our children and want to get away with it. This is what it is going to take. Thank you @RepThomasMassie @chelliepingree

This week I will introduce the “No Immunity for Glyphosate Act” to undo the recent Executive Order which promotes glyphosate (Round-Up) and insulates manufacturers from liability. #MAHA

Removal of Section 453, immunity for pesticides, was a victory that might be temporary. Friday SCOTUS will decide whether to hear the Roundup (glyphosate) cancer case. Why has @AGPamBondi‘s Solicitor General sided w/ German co. Bayer which sells Roundup? bayer.com/media/en-us/ba…

The President said the US will “run” Venezuela and take over its oil assets. He also threatened Cuba, Iran, and others. That tells you everything about this Administration’s priorities. There’s always money for war, regime change, and rebuilding another country’s oil industry, but somehow no money to help Americans afford health care, housing, or food. What happened to “America First”?
