Yesterday, @POTUS invited me to the White House to sign legislation I authored—the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act. I also want to say a word about President Trump as a person, and the quiet, consequential acts of compassion that rarely make headlines. This law is both pro-law enforcement and pro-victim. Human trafficking victims are often charged with non-violent crimes like prostitution or identity theft—crimes committed because they were trafficked. Even after they escape, those convictions follow them for life, blocking jobs, housing, and stability. This law, now signed by @realDonaldTrump, allows survivors to dismiss current charges or vacate past convictions if they can show they were victims. That is TRANSFORMATIVE! It gives survivors the courage to come forward, tell their story, and finally clear their record—while empowering law enforcement to focus on the trafficking rings and cartels. One of the strongest champions of this bill is Hollie Nadel, a survivor who was trafficked for eight years. A cum laude graduate of Ithaca College, Hollie has carried prior convictions for years—convictions this law would have addressed. But President Trump went further. He issued her a full pardon. He didn’t have to. He chose to. That decision speaks volumes about how seriously he takes justice, mercy, and the dignity of individual Americans. This is something everyone can and should celebrate. Real leadership. Real compassion. Real impact. 🇺🇸

Last week, we had some special visitors in Washington, DC… I met with students from the @AIPAC Student Leadership Summit, @PalantirTech, @TheUSONetwork, @amgoldstarfam, and the Asian-American Hotel Owners Association. I was also honored to receive the “Champion: Protecting America’s Warfighters” Award from the American Biodefense Action Coalition, and capped off the week at Pet Night on Capitol Hill! It was a busy and productive week for sure….!

As we mark the 23rd anniversary of 9/11, we take this day to honor the lives lost, recognize the courage of the heroes who stepped forward, and reflect on the enduring strength and resilience that binds us as a nation. We will never forget.

AAHOA applauds the New York City Council’s announcement to postpone the hearing for the Safe Hotels Act, which should allow industry stakeholders and NYC government officials to further and properly discuss the implications of the bill.

It was an honor speaking to @AAHOA members at the North Central Hotel Owners Conference and Trade Show about our office's Child ID Kit program, which is set to launch early next month to help fight the scourge known as human trafficking. We need the eyes and ears of these 20,000 individuals, many of whom work right here in Indiana. We all play a key role in watching for signs of this heinous crime and reporting suspicions to law enforcement.
