Cela fait 32 ans que le FPR @rpfinkotanyi a pris le pouvoir dans un bain de sang, 32 ans que les réfugiés rwandais errent dans le monde pour échapper à la terreur du régime rwandais. Dans une interview accordée à Stephen Sackur sur BBC HardTalk en décembre 2006, le journaliste pose à Paul Kagame une question directe et accusatrice : « Mais vous n’aviez pas le droit de tirer sur son avion et de l’assassiner ! » Face à cette accusation précise d’avoir abattu l’avion du président Juvénal Habyarimana – l’acte qui a déclenché le génocide de 1994 –, Kagame ne répond pas comme le ferait n’importe quelle personne innocente : il ne nie pas, il ne s’indigne pas, il n’exprime aucun rejet ferme de l’acte. Au contraire, il réplique calmement : « J’avais le droit de défendre mes droits. » Lorsque le journaliste insiste : « Mais pensez-vous que vous aviez le droit de l’assassiner ? » Kagame répond : « Non… mais bien sûr, Habyarimana étant du côté contre lequel j’étais en guerre, il se pouvait qu’il meure facilement… C’était la guerre. » Cette réponse est sidérante. Elle ne contient aucune réfutation de l’accusation factuelle. Kagame ne dit pas : « Nous n’avons pas tiré sur l’avion. » Il ne dit pas : « C’est faux, ce sont les extrémistes hutu qui l’ont fait. » Il glisse immédiatement sur le terrain de la légitimité morale de sa lutte, comme si la question de savoir qui a réellement appuyé sur la gâchette était secondaire, presque accessoire. C’est précisément là que réside l’aveu implicite. Un innocent accusé d’un crime aussi grave – l’assassinat d’un chef d’État qui a coûté la vie à au moins 500 000 tutsi de l'intérieur – réfute l’accusation avec force et clarté. epoche.fr/wp-content/upl… Il passe directement à « de toute façon, j’avais le droit de me battre ». Ce glissement révèle que, pour Kagame, l’acte lui-même n’est pas impensable : il peut être inscrit dans le cadre d’une « guerre juste » dont il se considère le seul juge légitime. Les défenseurs de Kagame tentent ensuite de sauver la théorie officielle en multipliant les hypothèses auxiliaires ad hoc (ce que les philosophes des sciences appellent des « théories ad hoc») : - « Il parlait de la guerre en général, pas de l’attentat. » - « C’était une réponse rhétorique au journaliste. » - « Il faut replacer ses mots dans le contexte de la souffrance tutsi… » Ces explications sont typiquement non falsifiables et ne servent qu’à protéger le noyau dur (« le FPR n’a pas commandité l’attentat ») face à une anomalie criante. Elles ne font que colmater la brèche ouverte par les propres mots de Kagame. Pour quiconque applique un minimum de rigueur épistémologique – qu’il s’agisse de philosophie des sciences, de simple bon sens ou d’analyse du discours –, cette vidéo est accablante. Kagame n’y nie pas avoir pu ordonner ; il le replace dans une logique où cet assassinat devient presque compréhensible, voire justifiable dans le cadre de la défense "légitime" de "ses droits". C’est pourquoi, cet extrait l’accuse plus efficacement que bien des témoignages directs. Il montre un homme qui, confronté à l’accusation la plus grave, choisit non pas la dénégation, mais la justification implicite. Et c’est bien là que réside la force troublante de cette vidéo : elle laisse peu de place au doute pour ceux qui refusent de se réfugier derrière des explications bricolées après coup.

This is Dr. Von Batten. At approximately 4:51 p.m. today, I received first reports of a possible security incident involving the First Lady of the #DRC, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi  @DeniseNyakeru. According to preliminary information, individuals identified by security as Rwandan nationals allegedly attempted an unlawful and hostile breach of the First Lady’s hotel room. Security personnel intervened swiftly, leading to a brief but intense struggle. The suspects ultimately escaped, with some accounts indicating they may have fled in a vehicle believed to have official links to the @PaulKagame Government of Rwanda @UrugwiroVillage. At this stage, it remains unclear whether this incident constituted an attempted assassination, an act of intimidation, or an effort to conduct surveillance. What is clear from reports is that the rapid response of security personnel prevented a potentially serious escalation. We commend their decisive action and are grateful that the First Lady is safe. The United States Government has been informed, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as more verified information becomes available. 📢✅ Résolution sur Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza 🟢 La résolution de Liberal International sur les droits de l’opposition politique au #Rwanda met en lumière une préoccupation majeure : la restriction persistante de l’espace démocratique et la répression systématique des voix dissidentes. Au cœur de cette analyse figure Madame @VictoireUmuhoza, reconnue comme une figure emblématique de l’opposition pacifique et de la lutte pour l’État de droit. 🔵 Le texte souligne que son arrestation, sa détention et les poursuites engagées contre elle s’inscrivent dans un contexte plus large de limitation des libertés fondamentales, notamment la liberté d’expression, d’association et de participation politique. Plusieurs organisations internationales estiment que les accusations portées contre elle sont largement contestées et relèvent davantage d’une volonté de neutraliser une opposante politique que d’une procédure judiciaire impartiale. 🟡 La résolution insiste également sur le fait que cette répression touche particulièrement les leaders politiques indépendants, les défenseurs des droits humains et les femmes engagées en politique. Elle appelle à un retour effectif au pluralisme politique, condition indispensable à une démocratie réelle, à la réconciliation nationale et à une paix durable au Rwanda. 🟠 En conséquence, Liberal International demande explicitement la libération immédiate et sans condition de Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza ainsi que celle des autres prisonniers politiques, tout en exhortant la communauté internationale à utiliser les canaux diplomatiques pour faire pression sur Kigali afin de restaurer un véritable système multipartite respectueux des droits humains. 🟤 Position et exigence claire Au regard de ces éléments, il apparaît que Madame Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza est détenue dans un contexte fortement politisé, où les garanties d’un procès équitable et d’une justice indépendante sont largement remises en question. This is Dr. Karl Von Batten. A few weeks ago, I had the great honor of meeting with representatives from across the #Rwandan opposition. More than 40 participants, representing over 30 political parties and civil society organizations, joined a discussion that lasted over four hours, focused on unity and cooperation in the pursuit of democratic change in Rwanda. President @PaulKagame has won almost all presidential elections in Rwanda by nearly 100%. Such election results are impossible in a true democracy. Kagame has maintained power through force, manipulated results, and political intimidation; he has kept the people of Rwanda divided and afraid. The day is approaching when the people of #Rwanda will reclaim their future in a free and fair election. The United States is committed to defending free and fair elections everywhere. While we welcome reports that members of the #Kagame regime have visited Washington, D.C., and once again agreed, for the hundredth time, to remove their troops from eastern DRC, everyone knows Kagame has no true desire for peace. President @PaulKagame’s plan is clear: to outlast President @realDonaldTrump, illegally remove President Tshisekedi @FelixUdps @Presidence_RDC from office, install a Rwandan-aligned puppet in Kinshasa, rely on a small but influential group of supporters in Washington to run interference, and continue exploiting the #DRC’s vast mineral wealth. Business as usual. Both @PaulKagame and Kim Jong Un of North Korea are in a special presidential club; a club where the pro-democracy opposition candidate is jailed or disappears before election day, leaving Kim and Kagame to magically win elections by almost 100%. Yet, instead of calling out the obvious brutal and oppressive dictatorship, @Harvard students fly thousands of miles to visit and pay respects to the U.S.-sanctioned @RwandaMoD and President @PaulKagame. What most people do not know is that #Kagame has long courted American colleges like @Harvard as a way to infiltrate and build relationships with students they believe will one day work within U.S. foreign policy circles. Your Excellency @PaulKagame It’s notable that international students are welcomed at @UrugwiroVillage , yet Rwandan university students who are directly part of the country’s future rarely receive the same opportunity to engage at that level. Aside from the 2015 address in Huye, such interactions have been limited. If the focus is truly on investing in the next generation and strengthening accountable governance, shouldn’t consistent, direct dialogue with Rwanda’s own university students be a priority? Or does it increasingly appear that Rwanda is being presented for external image and perception rather than meaningful internal inclusion? This week, the United States hosted representatives from the DRC and Rwanda to further implementation of the Washington Peace Agreement under the Washington Accords for Peace and Prosperity. The parties agreed to a series of coordinated steps to advance progress on the ground, including a mutual commitment to specific measures to support each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the scheduled disengagement of forces/lifting of defensive measures by Rwanda in defined areas in DRC territory, time-bound and intensified efforts by the DRC to neutralize the FDLR, and the protection of all civilians.

Les manifestants devant l'immeuble de l'Ambassade du Rwanda à Bruxelles le disent haut et fort pour protester contre une situation d'injustice et d'insécurité qui prévaut dans le pays. Personne n'est à l'abri des abus de toutes sortes commis par le pouvoir. Il convient de rappeler que le régime rwandais est bâti sur l'armée #RDF @RwandaMoD et que cette armée fait l'objet des sanctions américaines suite à ses implications dans la guerre d'agression que le régime rwandais mène contre la #RDC. Après avoir abusé largement de sa population au Rwanda, les autorités rwandaises s'en sont prises aux populations congolaises.
