I think we might be doomed. Folks figured out how to feed themselves for thousands of years. Having options for various gourmet cuisines available to the masses is a very, very recent development in human history.
Deva Hazarika@devahaz

Some reasons why cooking is overwhelming for many: -To cook each cuisine requires different base set of spices, staples, etc -Popular recipes often include obscure, expensive ingredients -Purchasing exact item amts often not possible -Utilizing rest of perishable food challenging

The more you read about Woodrow Wilson, the more is revealed to you that the online hatred of him is patently ridiculous

We are celebrating! 1️⃣ 12,000 churches planted since 2010 2️⃣ Last year, the highest number of churches planted in a single year since 2016 (699) “Let’s keep doing what Southern Baptists do best when we’re at our best: seek first the kingdom, stick together as a family, and think multiplication. The fields are ready. The moment is urgent. And the story God is writing through a sending people is far from finished.” -@NoahOldham Let’s get to work!

I still remember the online theobros mocking me for hosting an anti-sports gambling event with pastors at my church last year. Texas was at the time contemplating the expansion of sports gambling. "Read the room," they said (meaning their own group chats and bro portion of the internet). I was reading the room. College and student pastors telling me how deep the sports gambling problem is. What generates outrage and revenue on this site isn't always the real problem people are facing.

my hot take is that there should be no time accommodations for a /standardized test/ ever if someone is blind? Yeah they get adjustments so they can literally take the test. But extra time is fake. No one should get extra time. It defeats the whole purpose of the test.
Daniel Buck, “Youngest Old Man in Ed Reform”@MrDanielBuck

Curious everyone's thoughts: Any student who receives accommodations receives a diploma and standardized tests scores with a flag noting that they got accommodations. A small counter-incentive to accommodation-nation, but something is better than nothing, no?

Our country is going to pay a heavy price for the over-emphasis on sports we have placed on children. The mental health dangers of sports is piling up (esp. travel sports). The negative consequences often don’t show until the 20s, by then it’s assumed to be about something else.

What a week ⬇️ *⃣ 170 church planters *⃣ 7 languages in attendance *⃣ 30 states & provinces represented Send Network Orientation was filled with passionate worship, fervent prayer, and practical equipping—but one theme stood out again and again: 💡 The Kingdom of God. These planters were reminded that their church plants are part of something far bigger than themselves—a global mission and a growing family of churches. And that family is helping fuel this work through generous giving to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Thank you to the many who are giving and praying! This work could not be done without you!
