How is this acceptable, @airindia ? Two of us booked a direct flight from Delhi to Singapore scheduled for 3rd May at 00:40 AM. The tickets were booked nearly two months in advance. Today, immediately after completing web check-in, we received a message stating that the flight has been rescheduled to 4th May and is no longer a direct flight. When we contacted customer support, we were given only two options: either travel on 4th May (arriving at 18:30) or cancel and book afresh. If we travel on 4th May, we will miss our important bookings. If we cancel and book afresh, we will have to pay nearly four times the original fare. What makes this even more frustrating is that we can still see the same flight, along with other options around the same time, available on @makemytrip. However, we were told these cannot be offered to us because they fall under premium economy. This leaves us in an extremely difficult position. We have a clear requirement to reach Singapore on 3rd May – how exactly are we supposed to manage under these circumstances? @RamMNK

This ensures that the meter reading aligns with the most recent electricity bill you’re submitting. If the meter is located behind a locked grill (common in large apartment buildings), you will need to coordinate with the security guard or the building’s electrician to unlock it for you or send a photo of the meter. Save the photo on your mobile for reference, just in case it’s needed later. A black-and-white printout of the photo is sufficient. Passport size photo: While the instructions posted on the wall of the office indicated that a passport size photo is required, our volunteer was not asked to provide one during the process. It seems that, while it is technically part of the requirements, it may not always be requested. It’s a good idea to have one ready just in case. What to expect at the O&M office: Your first stop is the Operational & Maintenance (O&M) Unit office, where the Junior Engineer (JE) is based. Bring all the necessary documentation with you. The JE or their assistant will complete the section marked ‘For Office Use’ on page 2 of the application form. This is based on the picture of the meter you provide. The JE will also verify that the address on the electricity bill matches the address on the supporting document (e.g., the sale deed). Ideally, the JE should personally inspect the meter to ensure accuracy. However, this step is often replaced by reviewing a photo of the meter provided by the citizen. While this method is not foolproof, it is generally accepted, as additional checks may be conducted after the application is submitted to confirm that the meter in the photo corresponds to the specified address. Once the verification is complete, the JE will sign and affix a seal on Page 2 of the application form. What to expect at the Sub-Division Office: Take the application with the signature and seal of the JE, and all the necessary documentation to the Sub Division office. Cash Counter Hours: 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM. The Cashier may not provide an acknowledgement receipt but instead ask you to treat the ₹100 payment receipt as the official acknowledgement. To ensure your process is properly documented, we strongly recommend insisting on an official acknowledgement receipt, especially if you plan to file an appeal later. Planning for the office visits Plan to visit the O&M office in the morning. After completing the process at the O&M office, you will need to proceed to the Sub Divisional Office (SDO), where the cash counter closes at 3:30 PM. Visiting the O&M office in the afternoon could result in missing the cash counter’s closing time (JE’s can come back 3:15p from lunch when our volunteer visited the office), necessitating another trip.

I had repeatedly urged the Congress government to give land to the Metro in Hebbal to build a multimodal hub, which will help in streamlining the traffic. However, despite public pressure and requests by citizen pressure groups, the government allotted the land to a private entity. The honorable High Court of Karnataka has today quashed the controversial transfer of 55 acres of prime land in Hebbal to a non-existent private entity and ordered a CBI investigation. This is a classic case of the fence eating the crop. At the outset, it was highly illogical to allot land to a Pvt entity when there was a need for land for the expansion of Metro facilitating ease of transportation and reduce traffic chaos to a major extent The honorable High Court's order is a huge win for the people. More skeletons will tumble out after the CBI investigation.

Have no words about the road in front of India's most prestigious institute - The IIM-Bengaluru. You will never find such things around Vidhan Soudha, and Sadashivnagara (carefully guarded) because their wives and kids are healthier enough to go watch IPL with free tickets.

From what I understand: UP’s Invest UP / Nivesh Sarathi portal lets any prospective investor to register & login to file an online ‘investment intent’ with any number they claim they will invest; an automated acknowledgement or preliminary MoU is generated, but it is non‑binding and can be cancelled after due diligence on documents and financial capacity..

That 25,000 crore MOU is now cancelled. Remember, this got exposed because it was announced on social media for PR. Just imagine how much corruption must be going on behind closed doors. There’s a reason this country is still poor after 79 years of independence.
