Note to those running for office. Don’t say the Presidents name more than your own in your ads. Build your own name recognition. #puppets

After a 23-year career at Papillion-La Vista South, Joel Hueser announced his retirement from the school, but he couldn’t stay away from basketball much longer.   Hueser was announced as UNK’s assistant coach on April 24th, carrying on the Hueser legacy in Kearney. (1/4) 🧵

@ADoricko @povertyknobfarm @BlakeBurman @NewsNation What about causing lightening in drought areas and possible damaging storms? Doesn’t this make some winners and others losers. Can’t rain seed an entire region. How far do you require between your clients?

Rep. Bacon won’t stop talking about E-15, but stays silent on the #FarmBill provision he backed shielding pesticide companies from lawsuits. That’s not “farm support” - it’s a giveaway to chemical giants at the expense of public health and states’ rights. #NE02 #DoBetter
Rep. Don Bacon 🇺🇸✈️🏍️⭐️🎖️@RepDonBacon

What are farmers asking for w/ E-15? That the regulation preventing year-round sale be removed. No one will be forced to buy E-15. But consumers will have that option year-round. Further, ranchers love the distiller grain that comes from ethanol production and it is now integral to the beef industry.

This is unironically the best thing on the internet today 😭🥹 That hug, that smile, the way his voice cracked when he said “I’m a Chief”… man. This is why we love football. Emmett just made every kid in Nebraska (and every underdog watching) believe harder. Chiefs really pulled up with the perfect late-round magic. Go run wild, bro. You earned every second of this. 🫶🏈

@angeladuckw Just traveled through airport this week and realized after someone sneezed they never even hear a bless you because they have ear pods in anyway. It’s like we’ve lost the ability to engage or even smile at people as we pass each other. It’s sad.

True story... On the bus ride to work today, I sat across from a young mother and her son. How old was he? Two? Three. I can’t be sure. Young enough to still need a stroller. But also, apparently, old enough to navigate TikTok. The little boy sat facing his mom, quiet as a mouse, expertly scrolling through videos, skipping the ones that didn’t hold his attention. Then the mother took her phone back. It was her turn to scroll. He wailed the way toddlers do when they fall down and hurt themselves. Anyone in the back of the bus might have wondered what terrible accident had taken place up front. What they could not see was the little boy reaching desperately for his mother—or more precisely, grasping for her phone. “Mama!” he screamed. “Mama!!!” At one point, I thought he might climb out of the stroller. He gathered one leg beneath him and looked like he was going to make a lunge for it. Then the mom yelled–“Shut up!”--and went back to scrolling. But this did not stop her son’s hysterics. Finally, after a few minutes, she returned the phone with a sigh. And there was peace and quiet. Everyone, and especially the little boy, seemed content. Everyone except the mom, who now looked painfully bored. When I got off the bus, I remembered there’d been one intervening moment of solace. For just a moment, the boy paused his wailing. His gaze had been drawn outside. The bus was crossing a bridge. The boy looked at the river and the cars passing in the opposite direction. Was it one second or two? I can’t be sure. Not long enough.

For the first time, the Nebraska Examiner brings you a primary election guide. This has been countless hours of work with voters in mind — calls, emails and coordinating with 125 campaigns, and days stretching 18+ hours. Hope it helps before May 12. nebraskaexaminer.com/briefs/nebrask…
